For National Careers Week 2027, Octagon Music Hub is shining a spotlight on the huge range of careers and pathways available across music and the creative industries. Being a musician is just one possibility. The music industry needs producers, sound engineers, composers, teachers, promoters, technicians, artist managers, venue teams, marketers, digital creators and many more.

Music is experienced, understood, created and expressed in many different ways. During Neurodiversity Celebration Week, Octagon Music Hub will be celebrating different ways of thinking, learning, communicating and making music, while sharing resources to help make music education more inclusive and accessible.

On 4 March, Purbeck Youth Music will join the acclaimed Gabrieli Consort & Players at Lighthouse, Poole, for a special performance of Purcell’s Dido & Aeneas. Featuring young singers from schools across Purbeck, this unique collaboration offers an inspiring opportunity for local children to perform alongside professional musicians.
