Ferndown Middle School Students Enjoy Taiko Drumming Experience

Ferndown Middle School students recently got stuck into the vibrant world of Japanese Taiko drumming, bringing plenty of noise and excitement to the music department thanks to a loan of Taiko drums from Dorset Music Service.

As a lead music school within the Octagon Music Hub—supporting young musicians across Dorset and Somerset—and a proud holder of the national Music Mark, the school continues to champion creative opportunities for its pupils.

Adding even more colour to the experience, Tony Sivyer from the local performance group Dragon of the South lent the school Chinese lion dance costumes and drumming equipment, giving students the chance to explore an even wider range of musical traditions. https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/25870335.ferndown-middle-school-astounds-display-taiko-drums/
