DESCRIPTION:This event is ongoing\, upcoming dates: Mondays 7:15 – 9:45pmCost: £1 per session\, if availableEvent leader: Tom Lane\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe STEPS Youth Music Project is for young people aged 13–19 (up to 25 for those with additional needs) and provides a range of musical and developmental opportunities. All abilities are welcome and opportunities include tuition (e.g.\, guitar\, drums\, keyboards\, singing)\, jamming\, rehearsals\, practise\, lyric writing.  All skill levels welcome. DESCRIPTION:The Spooky Men’s Chorale performance is coming to Westlands Entertainment Venue\, Yeovil on Thursday 30 July. \n\n\n\nIt’s going to be a great show\, which mainly focuses on folk music – they are a band that have come to the UK all the way from Australia. They describe themselves: “In live performance\, the Spooky Men draw on a combination of musical and theatrical values which are elusive and multifarious. Notable themes and antecedents include Georgian male polyphony\, a running joke on man as a vast\, oblivious useless object\, whispers of clown\, bouffon and Monty Python\, and forays into massively pleasurable grunting tribalism. The audience are invited to first joyously endure a wall of mansound\, then laugh stupidly\, then venture into areas of great tenderness. It is ideally not so much comedic as hilarious\, not so much shimmeringly perfect as human in a very deeply resonant way.” \n\n\n\nWe think it would be interesting for families (we’ve checked – it’s suitable for family audiences).
